Satellite service provider Akash DTH Wednesday.was declared Bangladesh national team’s sponsors for their home series against Zimbabwe as the board was yet to find a full-fledged sponsor.
The BCB’s sponsorship deal with prominent consumer goods company, Unilever Bangladesh Limited, expired on January 31 this year and since then their men’s, women’s and age-level teams are without a permanent sponsor.
The BCB invited a bid from interested parties on January 21 this year for a two-year contract till January 31, 2022 and the bidding process was scheduled to take place on February 10.
Beximco, who own Akash DTH, is also currently sponsoring Bangladesh national women’s team in the ICC women’s Twenty20 World Cup in Australia.
The Tigers are scheduled to play one Test, three one-day internationals and two Twenty20 internationals against Zimbabwe in March.
